The hat and visor arrive as two seperate parts. The hat being a rather nice pink summer hat and looking a lot better than expectedThe hat immediately went on even though we were indoors and it was raining outside. It would continue to be worn for the next two hours because it was 'very pretty' so a glowing report there.As it is a summer hat it has a large brim to which the visor attaches using velcro.Also because it is a summer hat the brim is wide and floppy so attaching the visor causes it to pull down and obscures the view.So attaching it and then positioning the hat on the child's head so their face is covered but they can see is an act of trial and error, especially with a fidgety child. But once it is done it does cover the whole face.All we need now is some late summer sun to get some use out of it.This hat is just ok in my opinion. it is well made and decent quality, the design is cute which my unicorn loving child likes. I ordered the age 6-8 as I measured my 5yo at having a 54cm head but the is still a little on the large side and the brim is really floppy. With the visor attached to it pulls it down a bit more and not really ideal.I ordered this hat as an alternative for my child to wear as she is not a big fan of face masks. The wide pvc front visor works but to a very basic degree. It is attached to the brim with a thin strip of velcro, but the visor does not take into account the curve of the brim so is slightly awkward fitting and the end form is not great. My child definitely prefers to wear it as a sun hat only but it is good that the visor is optional.Overall this hat is acceptable, it could be better. At £13.99 (at time of writing this review) I feel it is a little expensive for what it is but if your child is not a lover of face masks then it is a good alternative to consider.This is a really versatile hat. It can be worn as a sun hat only or as sun hat plus protective visor. The sun hat itself has a pull cord for under the chin, this is great for when your little one is running about so the hat doesn’t fall off!I got size 6-8 (my daughter is 6 this year) and the hat fits her well (the chin pull cord will allow you to go a bit bigger on size if you want growth room). She loves the hat, the design is fab. The visor is easy to attach, I thought it would be really creased but it opened up fine and was quite sturdy when connected.At £10.99 (Aug 20) I think the price point is right. Very happy with this and would recommend!This hat fits my not yet 3 year old perfectly. It has a strap under the chin (with toggle to tighten the strap). The "visor" attaches using velcro from the brim of the hat - however the visor part isnt curved at all so doesnt sit quite right on the hat.It's a great idea in theory and our child seems to be happy enough wearing it and it's definitely something i will use (at the beginning pre Covid lockdown I was using the buggy with waterproof cover to take her anywhere remotely public).This is a beautiful sun hat, it’s very well made and with unicorn print it looks desirable too. I like that the visor attaches via Velcro because I can sew in some Velcro on the other hats we have and use the visor all the time. The hat has a pull cord with it that can be adjusted in length using a toggle. I cannot get my toddler to wear a mask and my toddler refuses to wear the visor too. They’re far too young to understand at this age. The price of the hat is about what I’d expect to pay and so it gets the thumbs up ? from me.
